A Truth Journal: Election 2016 GOP Convention Disasters: Plagiarized Melania Speech, Rejecting Rule of Law. Trump Truly Not Ready To Be President?

Melania Trump, left in 2016 and current First Lady Michelle Obama, right in 2008.

A Truth Journal: Election 2016 GOP Convention Disasters: Plagiarized Melania Speech, Rejecting Rule of Law. Trump Truly Not Ready To Be President?: From Denny:  Two major disasters for the Republican Party just on day one of their much touted Trump style showbiz convention.  First up?  The political party that lays claim to - and totally brain washes their followers into believing with such conviction - is that they are the party of "the rule of law."  Well, until that "rule of law" no longer serves their immediate political purposes and grab for power so they blow on past that "rule of law" like a winter north wind on a subzero cold day....

How the GOP Foiled the Never Trump Movement

What happened that day is very telling about what kind of a disappointment Trump would be if he was elected President:  A Truth Journal: Election 2016 GOP Convention Disasters: Plagiarized Melania Speech, Rejecting Rule of Law. Trump Truly Not Ready To Be President?

A Truth Journal: GOP and Rubio 2016: Women Should Suck It Up And Enjoy Results of Rape And Incest?

A Truth Journal: GOP and Rubio 2016: Women Should Suck It Up And Enjoy Results of Rape And Incest?: From Denny:  Does any one in this country actually promote or like abortion?  No.  Even as a liberal I agree with my Republican voting friends that abortion is disgusting and disrespectful of humanity.  But the way the Republican Party screams about the abortion issue does not solve the problem and has not solved the problem in over 40 years.  Obviously, the Republicans do not know how to lead the country - just stir up passions in cultural scream-offs just to win yet another election.  After the elections all the politicians sit on their hands doing nothing until the next election cycle of what will be broken promises.

Planned Parenthood has some serious problems with those insensitive doctors caught on video discussing the marketing of fetal body parts.  Of course, the calculating GOP strategists are promoting that video to rally the cause to defund Planned Parenthood - that also happens to do a lot of good for women's health issues in other areas like cancer testing.  Defunding Planned Parenthood is not the solution that will change the need for abortions.

The real questions every voter should be asking about that Planned Parenthood video is who the hell are these medical science creeps that are demanding said fetal parts be given for free or sold to them for their research and development of who knows what?  How pervvy can you get?  What exactly are they doing with that fetal tissue?  Why is there a "market" for fetal tissue, hearts and lungs in the first place?  Does this situation have anything to do with a severe shortage of donor organs in China with wealthy Chinese willing to pay any price to procure those organs?...

A Truth Journal: Presidents Day: Weird Presidents and Fun Trivia

A Truth Journal: Presidents Day: Weird Presidents and Fun Trivia:

From Denny:  Presidents' Day comes and goes in a flash.  Some years it's wildly popular generating interesting articles and other years, well, no one cares.  Seems like this year is one of those off years for interest, especially with the winter Olympics in full swing in Sochi, Russia, garnering so much attention.

Poking around online I found some amusing - and downright weird - facts about the U. S. Presidents you may not know - just when you thought you heard it all.  Yeah, trivia kings and queens live at our house.

The Social Poets: John Edwards Trial: Prosecution Fail, Dirty Judge, Truth Denied

The Social Poets: John Edwards Trial: Prosecution Fail, Dirty Judge, Truth Denied: From Denny:  For three weeks now all the prosecution has put on trial to show the jury is the ambitious political atmosphere of aides jockeying for personal power, the complete control of a candidate - and personal revenge.  What an ugly world.

In the aftermath of the 2008 political campaign and ensuing sexual scandal, aides also sought financial profit, many writing books years later.  Clearly, they have an agenda to join in the Destroy John Edwards Game of Obama and Axelrod.  This trial will become known historically as an infamous political vendetta played out on the national stage.

The Edwards Marriage

While our federal government was at it, they also decided to dissect the very sad and dramatically dying - and finally dead - Edwards' marriage.  This trial has been all about a forensic marriage audit.

I doubt there is a marriage in America that could withstand this kind of intense vicious scrutiny. Most marriages have the occasional, if not often, emotional drama of accusations, convenient lies and sometimes outright betrayals.  Marriage is based upon friction, sometimes it works to create better people, and, sometimes, that same friction destroys them.

The Social Poets: 2012 GOP Taliban: Politically Clueless Gaffes: From Denny: What a week. The comics could not ask for better material. It was handed to them on a silver platter. And the Obama White House aides are dancing in the halls because they cannot believe their good fortune.

Don't get cocky, guys, it might not last. Besides, there are always the fast rising fuel prices to torpedo what you thought was an easy win.

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney: From Denny: Since I could care less who wins or who loses the GOP race for president, I'm free to mock it in style.

At our house we were watching the GOP primary returns for the last three states of Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. Much to everyone's surprise it was the non-candidate Santorum that ran away with two of the races.

Though delegates were not awarded it is Santorum that has basically caught up with front-runner Mitt Romney by about 86 for Santorum to 94 delegates for Romeny. The winner needs about 700 to win.

Santorum, a Catholic, has sharpened his message to be known as the middle class guy and conservative. Romney is painted as the rich guy who is out of touch.

Lately, since getting trounced in the last race Romney is working hard to overcome the perception by portraying himself as a sensitive guy. He even laid claim to being a Mormon minister for 10 years and how he truly understands the unemployed and marital difficulties as a result of not being able to pay your bills.

So, here is my I'm Just Saying:

The Social Poets: Obama: End Libya War Now and 14 Political Cartoons: "While America's war hawks and profiteers are thrilled to have spent $1 billion this week bombing Libya, it's time to complete The Hand Over to anyone else but us. Americans did not expect to be the country spending 95 percent of the money in this police action and we are not happy about it. American taxpayers are fed up with footing the bill for everything all the time and for far too long. We spend decades in idiot unnecessary expensive wars started by previous presidents, then start 'police actions' in a current administration."

Libya: Update and 25 Libya Uprising Cartoons

The leader de facto of Libya, Muammar al-Gaddafi.Image via Wikipedia

From Denny: Finally, President Obama announces sanctions on Libya again. This Libyan dictator spent decades in sanctions limbo only to get thrown back into sanctions prison yet again. This guy should have been overthrown a long time ago.

Obama says he is freezing Libyan nationals' financial assets and there are economic sanctions to be put in place as well. He has not said what the specifics are to be exactly, as yet undetermined pending review of what will work best. Read that as he and his staff don't know and will be running around asking all the so-called experts what to do.

So far Obama has phoned key allies like UK Prime Minister Cameron, Prime Minister of Turkey, skirt-chasing Italy's Berlusconi and the United Nations Secretary General. Obama does not want to institute a no-fly zone but does not say why. The American embassy in Libya has been shuttered and closed down. Well, yeah, the country is in the process of becoming a failed state quickly.

One thing Obama did get right was to "hold his powder" as my Grand Dad used to say. Obama refused to satisfy the critics who demanded he come out and start screaming at and denouncing Gadhafi when the protests began. Well, there was the little matter of many hundreds of embassy and oil industry personnel still present in this chaotic country and we had to get them out safely. Today, a plane took off from the capitol city of Tripoli with Americans glad to leave that nightmare. Others arrived after 60 hours trapped on a ferry. But at least they are out now.

32 Egypt Revolution Ousts Mubarak Cartoons

NEW YORK, NY - FEBRUARY 11: Egyptians in a ne...New York City Egyptians on Freedom Day of 11 Feb 2011 Image by Getty Images via @daylife

From Denny: The Egyptian people are still walking ten feet off the ground today as they begin the process of getting back to work. There are those still protesting in the Tahrir Square, afraid the military may not make good on their promises to meet the Revolution demands.

Already the military is moving to establish order, calm the world about peace agreements and begin the process to create political parties and elections. They have dismissed Parliament and are reshuffling government management.  Read that as they are sifting out the nepotism posts.

America continues to enjoy a good relationship with the Egyptian military so chances are Obama - or at least the Pentagon - will be kept in the loop on information as it develops in Egypt. Hopefully, all the established democracies in the world are offering help, assistance, ideas on how to get Egypt on track quickly to their own version of a democracy.

Meanwhile, there is the thorny issue of whether to prosecute Mubarak and others in his administration for theft of national funds or crimes committed under the thoroughly hated and feared Emergency Law. After all, there are still present the 350,000 Secret Police that have savaged the 80 million people for 30 years.

Mubarak has been informed not to leave the country. His funds have been frozen by Swiss banks but Mubarak is cagey and squirreled away monies all over the world - some probably right here in America. Obama says he is doing a thorough investigation into whether Mubarak has funds here, probably since I brought it up in a post the other day.

Yeah, they read me at the White House, at the Pentagon and in the world intelligence community for the same reason my father's precious CIA guys used to listen to me: to see how much their BS is believed or not. Obviously, not for the right reason of doing the right and honorable thing toward the people of America or the world. Oh, well, guess when the time comes for them to meet St. Peter at The Pearly Gates they can't tell God that no one counseled them with The Truth.

It is amazing how leaders in the government, the military and the intelligence communities really make life hard on themselves and everyone around them. If they just swept aside their bloated egos, quit with the cover-ups to protect their pride, life could be so simple and a lot healthier and more prosperous for everyone.

Transcript: Obama 2011 State Of The Union Address

Official presidential portrait of Barack Obama...Image via Wikipedia

From Denny: Straight from The White House Blog is the full transcript of President Obama's 2011 State Of The Union address. It was generally very well received by the majority of Americans, though, in the light of the Tucson shooting, the speech side-stepped some thorny issues like gun control. No one speech can contain all that needs to be said for such a vast country. This president is well known for his inspirational speeches and will follow up with more since the 2012 reelection season is upon us.

The White House

Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
January 25, 2011
Remarks by the President in State of Union Address
United States Capitol, Washington, D.C.

9:12 P.M. EST

THE PRESIDENT: Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow Americans:

Tonight I want to begin by congratulating the men and women of the 112th Congress, as well as your new Speaker, John Boehner. (Applause.) And as we mark this occasion, we’re also mindful of the empty chair in this chamber, and we pray for the health of our colleague -- and our friend -– Gabby Giffords. (Applause.)

It’s no secret that those of us here tonight have had our differences over the last two years. The debates have been contentious; we have fought fiercely for our beliefs. And that’s a good thing. That’s what a robust democracy demands. That’s what helps set us apart as a nation.

But there’s a reason the tragedy in Tucson gave us pause. Amid all the noise and passion and rancor of our public debate, Tucson reminded us that no matter who we are or where we come from, each of us is a part of something greater -– something more consequential than party or political preference.

We are part of the American family. We believe that in a country where every race and faith and point of view can be found, we are still bound together as one people; that we share common hopes and a common creed; that the dreams of a little girl in Tucson are not so different than those of our own children, and that they all deserve the chance to be fulfilled.

Check out the first year of President Obama on the world stage.

From Denny: The first year of an historic first African-American presidency began well but soon fizzled. Why? Because of bad advice and overly ambitious counselors seeking to feather their own wallets. Typically, most first term presidents flounder their first 18 months in office until they can wrap their brains around the enormity of running such a huge and diversified country such as America. This president is unusually slow to adapt and accept changes to his staff who are not serving him well at all.

There was also the year long fight about health care reform of which Big Insurance fought vociferously, giving rise to The Birthers and other fringe wingnut groups accusing Obama of all kinds of outlandish things. Like what? Like claiming he wasn't born in America even though Hawaii is a state in the Union. They have also decided he is a Socialist and not a patriot and the Idiot List goes on into ad nauseum infinity stupidity.

This was also the Year of Hillary as much as it was the Year of Obama. She distinguished herself on the world stage admirably.
