Former Secretary of State Colin Powell Honored

From Denny: It takes a while to paint an oil portrait but was well worth the wait for honoree first African-American Secretary of State General Colin Powell. He was honored by the second female Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the State Department.

That must have been some moment when he realized his official portrait cemented into history his achievement in American government - no small thanks to current Sec. of State Hillary Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton was instrumental in furthering Powell's career by advancing him to head of the Joint Chiefs under Clinton's administration. That gave Powell national exposure for him to pursue a political career outside the military. What is also notable about Powell is that he has spent decades mentoring and working with kids at risk to help them pursue their dreams too.
